Babylon F.D. MVA w/ Car Into a House Park Ave. 3/24/23
The Babylon Fire Department was alerted for an MVA with reported car into a house on Park Avenue about 15:15 on March 24, 2023. Third Assistant Chief Price who lives near the scene was the first to arrive and confirmed a vehicle had gone through the garage. Chief of Department Arundale and Second Assistant Chief Sadousky arrived shortly after. The driver of a Ford F-250 pick up truck is believed to have suffered a medical emergency while driving. The vehicle was traveling south on Woodrow Parkway when it crossed over Park Avenue and struck a Land Rover parked in the driveway and then proceeded through a garage door and out the rear wall of the house. The truck came to a stop in the rear yard after hitting a fence. Engines 1-2-1, 1-2-5, 1-2-6 Heavy Rescue 1-2-7 and Ambulance 1-2-10 responded. The driver was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital by 1-2-10. The other crews shored up the affected area with studs that were displaced until the home could be further inspected. There were no injuries to occupant home at the time of the accident.
